Match Report - Willow League Match v Rhiwbina

A lovely June evening – ok was a bit windy and not just because Ali Collyer was behind the stumps!!
In Short – WE WON!! Fortunately we batted first as not having a full side at 6 pm (fines duly administered) and Mike Williams was on the offensive – top scorer with 41 including 8 boundaries next highest scorer was Tim who ground out a solid 39 – having secured a an excellent start wickets fell until the last two overs when yes... ... yours truly Daddy “the Bat” joined RDJ for our last wicket stand. I played to orders not glory and what with no balls and miss fields our stand added 17 (1 run to me!!!) setting Rhiwbina 154 to win.
We got straight into them, never allowing any of the batsmen – even the left handed pairing – to settle and skittled them all out for 82 off 16.5 overs – Daddy taking the final wicket but......
The champagne moment undoubtedly goes to Andy Powell – 4 wickets taken in a glorious spell of 4 overs for 15 runs
Fines a plenty – naturally coffers are swelling nicely – great performance let’s keep it going guys!
